With the EU financial support, the EU-OBUP is coordinated by the Scottish National
Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS).
Objectives
EU-OBUP specifically aims at editing a good practice manual for the use of labile
blood products, with three orientations :
- Transfusion safety, from delivery to transfusion
- Appraisal methods of the use of labile blood products by developing auditing methods
in compliance with a definite standard and an interrelational benchmarking between
structures of blood product used for homogeneous groups of patients.
- Training schedule of staff involved in transfusion processes.
