Paris, September 2010

Dear Reader,

A new era has begun. This is with a great pleasure that we welcome you on board this brand-new English site of the French national institute of blood transfusion (INTS).

The INTS was founded in 1994 on the impulse of Mrs. Simone Veil, former President of the European Parliament, and implemented by the French health authorities in response to the interest conflicts raised during the infected blood scandal.

Its three-fold assignments - Research, Reference, and Education & Training – were initially meant to cover the national territory. In its concern of legislating on health policies as practised in the member-states, the European Commission embarked on issuing specific directives in transfusion medicine.

With this in mind, and right from 2002, Professor Philippe Rouger, CEO to the INTS, founded EuroNet-TMS, the European Network of Transfusion Medicine Societies, conducting enquiries on the European practices in transfusion medicine on behalf of the French authorities and publishing a white paper every five year or so. Since 2005, the first English-written ‘White Book in Blood Transfusion’ has been regarded as a reference manual by all professionals in the field.

With 17 member-states from scratch, EuroNet-TMS is now active in more than 30 countries. Its members are currently working, in a very close collaboration with the EBA (European Blood Alliance), on the new edition of the White Book, bound for publication in 2011.

That’s about Europe.

With the experience of several international events we have taken part in 2010 – 5th Forum of Investment and Finance in Qatar, ISBT congress in Berlin with INTS as a first-time exhibitor at the largest IBST congress ever, a new trend is shaping up as per which a growing demand for our service offer is coming out from many countries outside Europe.

So, the time has come for us to think global and put at the disposal of each and everyone our knowledge, advice and experience in the transfusion field.

This permanently updated English website will be an information and reference basis for everyone to know where we are at in all fields we cover. Just fill in the site contact form with any question you may have, one of our experts in the field will answer you with no waiting. Or just leave your details and you’ll soon be informed of all scientific, educational or reference developments we are working at via our Breaking News letter.

Alternatively, please also feel free to reach out for the program of all international events we are attending as lecturers or/and exhibitors and meet our dedicated teams to discuss and figure out solutions to your specific needs.

We remain anytime at your disposal to answer all your questions about Education & Training, Research and Reference in Transfusion Medicine, whatever they are and wherever you are asking from !

Looking forward to hearing from you soon,

Kind regards.
